I've used my trimmer several times since purchasing it from Amazon last month. Thus far, it's done a fantastic job. People have made note of the lack of power, but this doesn't seem too much weaker than the electric trimmer I was using before. Since I trim every week, nothing grows enough to worry about heavy duty work. I did my edging this past weekend (first time in a long while), and had to make a couple of passes to get through some of the build up. Since I haven't edged in a couple months, I'm not too worried about that myself.
Battery life is pretty good thus far. I have about half an acre, and I can get through my fence line on both sides, and around the house on the first battery. The first battery started dying on me around the time I was finishing the driveway edging, and the second battery easily powered through edging the street. As a bonus, since I already have the B&D 18-volt blower, the batteries are interchangable. I like having to deal w/ less chargers, and better compatability. Changing to/from trimmer and edger is quick and easy. It might have a little bit of heft to it, but being a bigger guy, I can sling this around all afternoon with no issues.
All in all, I'm very happy w/ this trimmer. The lack of power hasn't been an issue for me at all, and the convience of it has won me over. I paid the retail (~$100) for mine, because I wanted to get it and get to using it. However, if you're not in a rush, keep an eye out for deals. I've seen it on sale in the past at local stores for around $90, and some times includes an extra batteries. Also, since it's a rechargable battery, remember to completely drain it at least once a month. Definitely helps them keep a better charge for longer.

To completely edge/trim my yard I have to do about 500 linear feet of light trimming, give or take 50 feet. The two batteries supplied with this edger give me juuuuuuust enough power to do the job. If I have to do any extra, forget it! However, I knew about the trimmer's limitations when I bought it, so I can't knock it--just pointing it out. It's not as powerful as my former gas trimmer either so it's not really fit for heavy-duty weed clearing, but the tradeoffs are magnificent: no oil/gas mixing, no leaking (my old "high-end" gas trimmer leaked CONSTANTLY), no nasty smoke emissions, and it's so much lighter. Just plug in the battery and go. You do have to make sure to charge the batteries well in advance, but that usually isn't a problem.
To edge, it's incredibly simple just to turn the head around and go. The "flip-down edge guide" is problematic, though, as it doesn't like to stay in place and there's no way to lock it there. It just gets lower and lower as you put weight on it, and I have to stop every 20-30 feet to adjust it. That's honestly my biggest gripe about this edger.
I wish it were about 8 inches longer; as a 6' person it's just a tad too short for me and I end up hunched over too much and getting a sore back.
Overall this a GREAT trimmer for a small yard (if you've got a larger yard, get extra batteries). I definitely recommend it.

Very light weight and more productive than the last cordless electric edger of another brand I had. I really like the two batteries they provided. I feel like I am flying through my yard and driveway edging with this one. I would really recommend this one to anyone that doesn't like fooling with gas powered ones like me.
